Join us + Athlete Interviews - Vancouver Premiere of Ski Film, "This is Home"

Exclusive Interview Opportunity With Some of the Best Skiers in the World at Vancouver Film Premiere

Excited to invite you to the screening of an amazing ski film taking place in Vancouver this Tuesday, 10/24. Exclusive athlete interviews with Tim McChesney and Duncan Adams. The must-experience ski film of the year is sweeping the globe with its beautiful story of how athletes' home mountains shaped who they are today.

"This is Home" is not your ordinary ski movie, which the global events to celebrate it have demonstrated: a raucous crowd of 1,800 fans lined up to watch in Paris last week; on the same day, 500 fans in Salt Lake City joined in the fun. And the tour continues across the globe, stoking up skiers for the winter ahead.

This is Home is the first-ever feature-length film by The Faction Collective, a group of die-hard skiers that have built one of the last independent ski companies. Faction is known for making some of the world's best skis, used by world-class athletes like Candide Thovex, Johnny Collinson, Duncan Adams, Kelly Sildaru, and Tim McChesney, among others.

This is Home will premiere in Vancouver on Tuesday, October 24 at The Rio Theatre, doors at 6pm. Links to website, trailer, and event page below.

Would you be interested in connecting with someone from Faction to hear about why they felt it was worth spending two years making a ski film? Or perhaps to connect with two of the athletes, Tim McChesney and Duncan Adams, by phone or in-person, before the show? The director of the film, Etienne Mérel, is also available for interviews in English or French.

I'd be glad to set aside some tickets under your name - would you please let me know?

When:

  • Exclusive interview opportunity starts at 6:00pm; venue doors open to the public at 6:00pm for athlete signing and product giveaways.
  • Film begins at 7:30pm

Where: RIO Theatre - 1660 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5N 1W1, Canada

About Faction Skis

Twelve years on and although everything has changed, not much really has. Having been at the driving end of new technologies like super fat skis, rocker, lightweight hybrid cores, recycled materials, symmetrical twin tips and a nod back to traditional, hand-crafted manufacturing techniques, the industry is still the same.

It's the independents who are leading the way. Led by skiers who work for the love of the community they are part of.

And that's exactly who we are. An independent group of skiers, artists, film-makers, staff, partners and fans that has grown over the past 12 years to more than just a sum of its parts, united by a love for the mountains and the tools that allow us to escape there.
